Changing your major into CECH?

We’d love to welcome you to CECH! Current UC students can submit a request to change their major via the Change of Program form. Some majors in CECH have special admissions criteria: 

  • Elementary Education: Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Secondary, Middle Childhood or Special Education: Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.

If you don’t meet these requirements, please email soeadvising@uc.edu to discuss your eligibility for admission. 

  • Exercise Science: Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • Information Technology: Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher (combined UC and transfer GPA).  
  • Cybersecurity: Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher (combined UC and transfer GPA).

After you submit the Change of Program form, watch your UC email for updates about your application. If you have questions about your application or major change into CECH, you can email cechssc@ucmail.uc.edu.

Adding or changing your major out of CECH? 

Before applying to change your major, you are strongly encouraged to meet with a Major change advisor in the Transition Advising Center. Major change advisors can help you identify majors that align with your academic and professional goals. They can also provide guidance on the major change process, as some colleges and majors have special admission requirements.
