GenCyber

Summary

GenCyber is a nation-wide grant program funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Security Agency (NSA). With the intent of building excitement and awareness of this important field, GenCyber provides funding to programs so that they can introduce middle and high students and their teachers to the field of cyber security.

The School of Information Technology has been awarded a GenCyber grant since 2019 to create and host a GenCyber Camp. All of our GenCyber Camps have been great successes with great teachers.

GenCyber Camps provide opportunities to:

  • Participate in sessions led by content experts
  • Collaborate with SoIT Faculty
  • Engage with IT industry professionals
  • Create lessons with other teachers
  • Receive an honorarium for participating
  • Receive GenCyber goodies like a raspberry pi
  • Meet on UC campus
