The Early Childhood Education (ECE) Online program offers an associate degree in early childhood education that prepares professionals who can provide high-quality educational experiences for all children. The program also emphasizes working with young children and their families from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Graduates will be able to implement developmentally appropriate integrated activities and materials across the domains, including visual arts, music, movement, science and math, and early language development.

Employment opportunities include preschools, Head Start programs, child-care centers, family childcare environments, and other related programs for children.  This degree does not lead to PreK – 3rd grade licensure.

Whether you are in a preschool, Head Start program, child-care center, family childcare environment or just interested in getting started in the field, our online program provides the flexibility and accessibility you need.  Our courses give you information and strategies that you can learn today and apply it in the classroom tomorrow! This degree does not lead to PreK – 3rd grade licensure.

Our Associate Degree Program offers a core child development curriculum with the opportunity for you to choose an area of concentration. You can select from Infants and Toddlers, Preschool, or Administration. You can also begin your degree with coursework that leads to the CDA credential!

The Associate Degree option gives you a choice between three different focus areas to allow you to really personalize your educational experience. Your three options include the following:

The CDA Online Coursework offers you the opportunity to meet the education requirements for obtaining your CDA while receiving advanced standing in the Associates Degree Program. Standard UC Tuition rates apply, and the courses will appear on your transcript.

In the Infant and Toddler concentration, you will get an in-depth education on providing quality interactions and environments for children Birth – age three. This option includes a practicum experience in both infant and toddler classrooms.

In the Preschool concentration, you will dive into planning developmentally appropriate curriculum experiences for children three through five years of age to ensure that they are ready for Kindergarten. This option includes two semesters of practicum experiences in a preschool that may lead to faculty’s recommendation for Ohio’s PreK license.

The Administration concentration is designed specifically for those in leadership positions in the field of early care and education. This option does not require a classroom practicum, but includes shadowing an administrator.

Many of our graduates choose to continue their education in the ECE Online Bachelor degree program. Please click here for more information about our Bachelor's degree.
