Spring Research Conference

Save the Date!

The Spring Research Conference is jointly sponsored by the University of Cincinnati, the University of Kentucky, and the University of Louisville. The conference location rotates among the three institutions annually. The purpose of the conference is to provide students an opportunity to present research proposals in a "friendly" yet formal setting, and to get constructive feedback from faculty and colleagues.

This year, the conference will be hosted by the University of Cincinnati on Saturday, March 25 at The Graduate Hotel

Registration for the 2023 Spring Research Conference can be found here

  • Student Presenters – Please complete the registration form by February 6, 2023
    • Poster Presentation: Visual highlight of your research findings, new ideas, innovations, and possible advances to the profession combined with a 2-minute oral presentation to highlight the major components of your work.
      • Abstract (approximately 250-500 words)
      • The top three poster presentations AND the top three poster pitch presentations will be recognized and receive a cash prize.
      • You can find more information about the poster pitch competition here.
    • Oral Presentation: 15-minute oral presentations to highlight key information about your research including the rationale, methodology, analysis, results, and discussion.
      • Abstract (approximately 250-500 words)
      • All oral presentations should last approximately 10-minutes, with 5-minutes reserved for questions. Moderators will notify you on the timing of your presentation.

  • All other attendees must complete the registration form by February 20, 2023

Check-In Instructions

  • Upon arrival, visit the check-in table located in the 2nd floor lobby. All attendees will be provided with a name tag and SRC swag items! 

Cost & Dietary Restrictions

  • This conference is free to all for all social science students, faculty, and staff at UC, UK, and UofL and breakfast and lunch will be provided.
    • If you have dietary restrictions, please be sure to note them on the registration form. The 2023 Spring Research Conference team will help to accommodate to your needs.

Parking Instructions

  • All attendees should park in the Kingsgate Garage located directly below the hotel. Kingsgate Garage is located near the main entrance from Goodman Drive near the Graduate sign. Keep left while entering the garage and pull a #1 ticket from the gate. Hotel parking is on P1-P4 in sections A and B (near the red brick elevators on P2-P4). Clearance for the garage is 6’8”, so please be mindful on oversized vehicles.
  • Upon arrival, you will go to the 2nd floor Lobby Level. There will be volunteers in the garage to assist you.
    • P1 – enter through the glass door near the gate marked with the Graduate logo and then turn right to find the lobby elevator.
    • P2-P4 – use the red brick elevators marked with The Graduate logo. Press 2 to take the elevator to “LOBBY LEVEL.” Exit the elevator to the right to walk to the main lobby. The conference check-in desk will be located straight ahead.  
  • Note: self-parking at the Graduate Hotel is $10 per day.
