Practice

The Practice component at the UCCI serves to apply correctional research in the field, encouraging all to become “agents of change” within their work.  By investing in staff potential, UCCI partners with agencies to strengthen program effectiveness. This is done primarily through training agency staff on both one-on-one and group interventions and supporting capacity for quality improvement.  Intensive on-site technical assistance, training, and coaching is available for agencies who want to better align their practices with the research.  Implementation support and sustainability are integral components within the Practice domain.

Training

A key component to fidelity of services is found through structured training protocols. UCCI has developed comprehensive training/instruction protocols for a variety of evidence-based approaches. All UCCI training events include a multi-level approach that includes lecture, modeling, practice, and feedback. In this way, staff have the opportunity to acquire new skills through both observation and application in a learning environment.

“We first explored CBI-CC when we reviewing Cognitive-Behavioral curriculums in conjunction with the development of our DRC. The strength of our partnership with UCCI, the evidence-based nature of the curriculum, and the quality of the training provided convinced us that CBI-CC should be the core of our DRC.”
