The Arlitt Center for Education, Research, & Sustainability is part of the School of Education within the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services. The Arlitt Center houses the Arlitt Child Development Center, one of the oldest laboratory preschools in the USA. The program serves preschool children from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and also acts as a practicum site for students from many programs at the University of Cincinnati. In addition, The Arlitt Center serves as a research site for faculty and students, acts as an observation and training resource for the community, and actively leads initiatives related to early childhood education, human development, educative environments, and education for sustainability. Arlitt is home to the international peer-reviewed journal, Children, Youth and Environments and co-chairs the local community organization Leave No Child Inside of Greater Cincinnati.
