The Master of Arts in Educational Studies, at the University of Cincinnati, is a multi-disciplinary graduate degree program designed to provide students with greater understanding of the foundations of education, learning, development, and research in education and social change. Within our master’s program in Educational Studies, students can tailor their academic journey by choosing from a diverse array of concentrations. These concentrations are designed to provide a well-rounded and specialized education that caters to our students' interests and career goals. Students can choose from one of the following concentrations:
- Higher Education Administration: Students will focus on content that higher education leaders and college and university administrators are required to be knowledgeable in, as well as provide students with foundational knowledge and innovative solutions that build stronger academic and postsecondary institutions.
- Research for Social Change: Students will learn research that can make a difference across the full breadth of the educational landscape and community settings. Through multidisciplinary coursework, students gain expertise in research-to-action and educational approaches toward social justice and strengthening of communities.
- Educational Psychology and Child Study: Students will gain expertise in developmental learning sciences (human learning and development; cognitive and developmental psychology) and the developmental study of children.
- Applied Research Methods: This concentration prepares students to learn the application and development of quantitative methodologies as tools to gather evidence in the field of education and other social and behavioral sciences.
