Important Policies

As a student it is your responsibility to be familiar with university policies. If you have questions about any of the policies below, you can contact your academic advisor for assistance.

CECH Student Services Center Appointment Policy

The CECH Student Services Center provides high-demand services, including academic advising, career coaching, mental health counseling, and student success support. To help us serve all students fairly and efficiently, we ask that you follow the appointment guidelines below:

Late Arrivals

If you arrive 10 or more minutes late to a scheduled appointment (in person or virtual), you may be asked to reschedule. If the staff member you are scheduled with is still able to meet with you during that time, you will only be seen for the remaining time in your original appointment.

Please contact the staff member you are meeting with or the front desk at (513) 556-2336 as soon as possible if you believe you may be late.

Cancellations

If you can no longer attend your appointment, please cancel or reschedule it at least 24 hours in advance through My Bearcat Network (MBN), by contacting the staff member you are meeting with directly, or by calling our front desk at (513) 556-2336. Early notice allows us to offer the time to another student.

We understand that emergencies happen. If you need to cancel your appointment the day-of due to illness, unexpected family or personal issues, or other urgent situations, please still reach out to cancel. Day-of communication is always better than no communication.

No-Shows

You may be marked as a “no-show” if you:

-Miss an appointment without notice,

-Cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice (unless it is an emergency),

-Arrive 10+ minutes late and cannot be seen.

Students who accumulate three (3) no-shows within a six-month period may temporarily lose the ability to schedule appointments. Instead, we may ask you to use email support or drop-in times if available. To regain access to scheduled appointments, you will need to complete a brief reflection form, which will be reviewed by center leadership. This form asks you to reflect on what happened and how you plan to manage your time moving forward.

This policy is not meant to be punitive. We know things come up, and we are here to support you. Our goal is to ensure fair access to advising and support for all students and to help you build habits that support your success.
