This program is for graduate students interested in becoming a licensed teacher in middle and high schools in Ohio. The Masters in Curriculum & Instruction plus licensure prepares you with the education requirements to apply for a teaching license in Ohio in grades 4-9 (middle childhood) or grades 7-12 (secondary) in core disciplinary content areas. The program is CAEP accredited and your Ohio license has reciprocity with 42 other states.

Education That Works for You
The Curriculum & Instruction program is a hybrid program with campus-based coursework, online coursework and school-based experience sequenced to move students from educational newcomers to proficient first year teachers. The CI M.Ed. is comprised of the 18 credits of core CI requirements, 12-15 credits of clinical experiences, and 12-15 specialized teaching and state mandated licensure credits.

During the C&I program, students will complete a research-based capstone project.
Real World Experiences
The C&I program prides itself on the immersion of school-based experiences students will receive throughout the program. Three semesters of the program involve a placement in a local school, working with an experienced teacher. Clinical placements are all in the grade levels and disciplinary content areas you are seeking licensure for. School of Education works with our partner schools and makes the placements for all students. Clinical experience exceeds the state requirements to provide the best learning opportunities for you and the 4-12 students in your clinical classrooms.
