Placement for undergraduate students is based on TOEFL iBT, IELTS, SAT, ACT sub-scores or ESL ENPT and OEPT-Academic Scores.
ESL ENPT and OEPT-academic are provided by the Center for ESL for students who do not have any of the above scores.

Other ESL Courses for Undergraduate Students
- ESL1011 (1 credit) Introduction to U. S. College Culture: This course introduces essential aspects of the U.S. college culture and is aimed at preparing first year international undergraduate students for a successful transition into an American University.
- ESL1076 (3 credit) American Culture and Communication: This course focuses on the cultural aspects of verbal and non-verbal behaviors, values, and communication styles. The goal of this course is to familiarize students with their host culture, while developing strategies to succeed in their new academic and social environment.
- ESL1077 (3 credit) Strategies for Academic Success: This course is aimed at raising and developing ESL students’ pragmatic awareness and competence in academic contexts through awareness raising activities and communicative practice. This course also discusses important aspects of the American college culture.
