Early Childhood Education (Preschool- Grade 5)

About the Program

Our Bachelor of Science (BSED) Degree in Early Childhood Education prepares graduates to become effective teachers of children in a variety of pre-kindergarten through grade five settings, including preschools, Head Start programs, child-care centers, public schools and related programs for children. This program prepares students to take the Ohio Assessments for Educators (OAE) exams upon graduation. Afterwards, candidates are eligible to apply for an initial State of Ohio teaching license valid for teaching children preschool through grade five.

Designed for students who wish to teach preschool through grade five and prefer an on-campus program.

Early Childhood Education Online

Designed for students who wish to teach children from birth to five years of age and prefer an online program.

Program Objectives

By graduation, you will be able to:

  • Teach children in a variety of settings in the State of Ohio
  • Withhold an ethical and thorough understanding of early childhood theory (PreK-5) and its application to the educational setting
