About the Program
The Transition to Work Graduate Certificate and Endorsement programs are designed to increase the transition-related knowledge and skills of the various individuals involved in the transition process, such as transition specialists, intervention specialists, special education administrators, service providers (e.g., counselors and occupational therapists), vocational rehabilitation counselors, parents, advocates, and any individual who is interested in expanding his/her knowledge in the area of transition-focused special education. The graduate certificate and endorsement programs will equip you with specialized knowledge and skills in transition-related legislations and policies, transition procedures, best practices in transition, transition focused instruction and curriculum, and interagency collaboration, so that you can become a field leader to facilitate transition planning and incorporate effective transition services as mandated by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004 (IDEA).

Program Objectives
The Transition to Work Graduate Certificate and Endorsement Programs are designed to be completed online in two semesters. The proposed courses have been included as a concentration area of the Master’s program in Special Education. Upon completion, you will be qualified to work as a:
- Special Education Teacher
- Transition Professional such as a transition coordinator/specialist
- Work study coordinator
- Secondary Special Educator and Transition Professional
- Intervention Specialist
