IT Learning Center

The IT Learning Center provides support to students taking School of Information Technology courses. The IT Learning Center is staffed by Teaching Assistants from the PhD in Information Technology and Masters in Information Technology programs. TAs have expertise in subject areas that cover core courses in the undergraduate and graduate curriculum. Though the Teaching Assistants are only assigned to specific IT courses, the IT Learning Center supports all IT courses on Main Campus.

Summer 2025 Hours:

  • Tuesday – Thursday: 9am - 5pm

Located in Teacher Dyer Complex 136

Please note that the Center will be closed during UC holidays.

How to Connect with a TA

For help with your School of Information Technology classes, please set up an appointment with a TA using Microsoft Bookings. Appointments are encouraged to ensure availability of specific TAs; however, walk-ins are always welcome.

To use Bookings:

  1. Navigate to the IT Learning Center Bookings page

  2. Select the subject area most aligned with the course you have questions about

    - Note: When you select a subject area, you can click ‘Read more’ to see some examples of courses that fall under that particular subject area. If you are still not sure which subject area to choose, please select “All Areas”.

  3. Once you select a subject area, you will have an option to choose a specific TA, if desired, under the ‘Select Staff’ heading. If you do not have a preference, you can keep the default selection, ‘Anyone’; this may open up the availability if there is more than one TA for this area. If you would like to meet with a specific TA, you can select their name from the list and you will then only see their availability.

  4. Select the date you wish to meet with a TA

  5. Based on the date you selected, you will see available times

  6. Once you have selected a date and time, add your name and email, as well as any notes you think would be helpful for your TA to know

    - We recommend including the course number that you have questions about, so that we can do our best to match you with the appropriate TA

  7. Click ‘Book’ to book your appointment. You should receive a confirmation email with the details of your appointment. You will also receive a reminder email 2 hours before your appointment.

  8. On the day of your appointment, show up at the IT Learning Center, located in lab 136 of the Teachers-Dyer building. Staff or student coordinators at the front desks can help you locate the TA you are scheduled to work with. If there is nobody at the front desks, please ask one of the student coordinators to help connect you with the correct person.

    - If the appointment is virtual, click on the Teams link located in your confirmation email.

If you have any trouble using the Bookings system, please feel free to reach out to our Program Coordinators for the IT Learning Center, or feel free to walk in and work with any of the TAs that are on duty.
