Evaluation Services Center
Data and evidence-based research can change lives, systems, and communities.
What We Do
UC’s Evaluation Services Center team has the knowledge, expertise, and experience to serve as an evaluation and applied research partner with particular subject matter expertise in education, human services, and public health.
Collaborative Process
We collaborate with government, community, and academic partners to solve real-world problems. Because our goal is to provide useful results, we strive to understand the perspectives of every partner and provide opportunities for feedback and co-design.
UCESC’s team members have a breadth of experience as K-16 educators and administrators, psychologists, and public health specialists. We have worked for many government and human services organizations, including funders, child welfare, and workforce and community development. We understand the challenges of implementing and evaluating programs and know how to meet the needs of interest holders. As a result, our reports and deliverables are tailored to the audience and provide feasible recommendations.

Independent Evaluation
We have operated as an independent evaluation center within the College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services and Information Technology at the University of Cincinnati since 1996. We provide rigorous data collection and statistical analysis for many local, state and national partners and serve as an external evaluator for projects at UC. Our early involvement at the proposal or program design stage can increase opportunities for successful funding, improve the evaluation plan, and maximize the integrity and reporting of the results.

With over 25 years of experience as part of a major research university, we are a team of evaluators with a strong reputation for quality work. Partnering with a variety of government and community organizations, our areas of expertise include PK-12 education, STEM initiatives, out-of-school time programs, higher education, mental health and substance use, and workforce development.
Our Mission
Our mission is to harness the power of data to promote thriving individuals and communities through partnership and evaluation science.
