Office of the Dean

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in the College of Education, Criminal Justice Human Services, and Information Technology. While the college is divided into four academic schools, our mission is singular. We create professionals who are out in the community making a difference by solving real-world problems.

Our college is a diverse and dynamic community that offers a broad range of services. From our academic schools to our community-facing centers, our mission is to make a positive impact on the communities that we serve, and we could not do that without strong philanthropic support.

In addition, our faculty facilitates research that is geared towards evidence-based practice to solve current and persisting world problems through community-based initiatives. Our faculty has received grants through their research on how to fight the opioid crisis, improving our state’s cybersecurity initiatives, and conducting human trafficking research to better improve the true number of minor victims and those who are trafficked, which is important to implement well informed anti-trafficking policies, just to name a few.

CECH offers more than 70 undergraduate and graduate programs, have partnerships with more than 10 organizations, and is the second largest college at U.C. with the largest amount of research and contract dollars that is used to help solve problems in our community.

Aside from our program offerings and partnerships, we aim to cultivate a “home away from home” culture for our students. We celebrate with our students each year through annual campus events, provide opportunities to share new ideas, and foster an inclusive environment for our transfer and non-traditional students so everyone feels like they are a part of our family.

In closing, at CECH, we are committed to developing students who will respect and value diversity, social engagement, discovering solutions to problems, and will become leaders and role models in their respective communities. Thank you for visiting and welcome to our family.
