Mary Siskaninetz

Senior Health Education student, Mary Siskaninetz, is a finalist for the Truman Scholarship. This nationally competitive award is offered annually to students across the country pursuing careers as public service leaders. Mary has made a great impact on campus and the community during her time at UC, including serving as a hospital advocate for people who have experienced sexual assault and domestic violence and volunteering with middle school girls where she addressed confidence, female empowerment and diversity. She currently serves in several different leadership roles on campus, including Peer Educator at the Student Wellness Center, Vice President of UC Feminists and Student Government Director on Health and Wellness. Mary will be visiting Washington DC in April to determine if she will be selected for the 2018 Class of Turner Scholars. The University of Cincinnati has only had one Truman Scholar in its 40 year history.
