STEM Teaching and Learning Certificate

About

School of Education

Our graduate certificate in STEM Teaching and Learning is a great fit for you if you are a PreK-16 teacher or informal educator and want to teach more effectively in the STEM disciplines or want to grow into a leadership position focused on STEM teaching and learning. The program includes five courses (all online) that develop a consistent framework for advancing educators’ knowledge on a range of strategies to teach and assess learning in STEM areas.  The certificate can be part of the online masters degree with an additional five courses (total of 10 courses). There is no required mathematics background as the math classes are not intended as mathematics content courses, rather they focus on mathematical thinking and processes. The intention is to get teachers to think about the role of science, mathematics, technology and engineering in the development and application of knowledge.
