Teacher Education Programs

Students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in a Teacher Education program follow a two-tier admissions process in order to successfully complete their undergraduate degree and be eligible for state licensure. Candidates entering a licensure program cohort and graduating with recommendation for licensure must be able to meet the requirements of the licensure program and must not pose an unreasonable risk to the safety and well-being of their students and their families, colleagues, staff, faculty or themselves. Therefore, candidates must have the ability to perform and demonstrate the essential skills, functions and dispositions of a professional educator as outlined in this Technical Skills document.

The Program Handbooks have been written to acquaint Teacher Education students with general and specific requirements and responsibilities concerning the respective programs and field experiences.
