IT Professor Writes Award-Winning Research Paper
Annu Prabhakar won “Best Paper” at the international Conference on Pervasive Computing Technologies for Healthcare.
Annu Prabhakar, an Associate Professor in the School of Information Technology at UC, recently won the Best Paper Award at the European Alliance for Innovation’s (EAI) 11th Annual International Conference on Pervasive Computing Technologies for Healthcare. The conference took place May 23-26th in Barcelona, Spain.
In her paper, “Let Me Know If You Need Anything: Support Realities of New Mothers,” Prabhakar discussed the findings from a needs assessment study conducted with 48 pregnant women and new mothers using social media platforms. She proposed a design framework for technology solution for support for new mothers.

The EAI is a premier international forum with a focus on technologies and human factors related to the use of ubiquitous computing in healthcare and for wellbeing. The premier goal of the Pervasive Health Conference is to take a multidisciplinary approach to Pervasive Healthcare Technology research and development.
