CECH Receives National Science Foundation Conference Grant

Kathie Maynard

Kathie Maynard, the Assistant Dean of CECH Innovation and Opportunity, received a grant for the conference she spearheaded titled, NextLivesHere Innovation Summit.  This conference was awarded a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) through their NSF INCLUDES program.  This is a comprehensive initiative to broaden the participation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields.  The recipients of these grants comprise 37 Design and Development Launch Pilots, funded through these two-year grants in hopes of supporting projects aimed at expanding participation in STEM education and career opportunities.  The ultimate goal of the NextLivesHere Innovation Summit is to demonstrate how a community can work together to increase the underrepresented minorities in STEM education and careers, increasing STEM representation in general.
