UC’s School of Information Technology to Host 6th Annual IT Expo
Come experience UC’s technological innovations, research, and senior IT student capstone projects at the 6th Annual Information Technology Expo on April 12, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The day-long event features an industry guest speaker, senior IT capstone projects, and high school competitions in the UC Campus Recreation Center.
At the Expo, senior IT students will present their senior design projects, and technology companies will be available to meet attendees and students. High school students will also present in the high school-level competition of the event, with the chance to earn scholarships.
UC seniors’ IT design projects demonstrate their knowledge gained through coursework and co-op placements while highlighting software application development and networking and systems. Over the course of two semesters, individuals or teams of seniors develop IT solutions beginning with analyzing the problem all the way through to producing a functioning, finished product. Cybersecurity, mobile apps, virtualization, IT infrastructure, and Web applications, are just a few of the areas covered by students’ IT projects.
Along with the IT senior design presentations, projects from the IT Solutions Center, IT Innovation Lab, and undergraduate IT research projects are also on display. Additionally, the UC Bearcat will be present for photo opportunities.
