About

Our Associate Degree is an Applied Science Degree in Early Childhood Care and Education that prepares professionals, like you, who can provide high-quality educational experiences for their community‚Äôs youngest children.  The main goal of the program is to provide you with an ethical and thorough understanding of early childhood theory and its application to the educational setting.  Recent graduates have found positions as head start teachers, preschool teachers, infant and toddler specialists, and program administrators.  This program is entirely online.

Program Objectives

By graduation, you will be able to:

  • Implement developmentally appropriate integrated activities and materials across the domains, including visual arts, music, movement, science and math, and early language development
  • Maintain an ethical and thorough understanding of early childhood theory and its application to the educational setting
  • Understand classroom topic application through the required teaching experience

The early childhood education program is accredited by the following:

  • Higher Learning Commission
  • Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP)

The School of Education was ranked 3rd Best Early Education Program in the Nation (SED, 2015 USA Today).
