Principal Licensure

About

The Principal Licensure program equips licensed teachers to become an effective school leaders by addressing the needs and challenges of teachers, students, and districts. Those who seek to complete any Administrative Specialist licenses or Superintendency license program must first obtain a Principal license.

It is estimated that in the next decade, 40 percent of today’s principals will retire. Obtaining our Graduate Certificate for Principal Licensure will enable a path toward the experience and expertise required to expedite the process of becoming a licensed principal.

Program Objectives

The program prepares education professionals to take the Ohio Assessment for Educators (OAE) Exam.

Accreditation

The School of Education at the University of Cincinnati is consistently ranked as a top institution in the field of Education. Most recently, US News and World Report placed it in the top 100 Best Education Schools and ranked it the 30th Best Online Graduate Education Program (2016).

The University of Cincinnati and all regional campuses are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
