Myrinda Schweitzer Smith

Myrinda Schweitzer Smith received her B.A. in psychology from the University of Cincinnati and her M.A. in forensic psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.  Mindy worked as a clinician for an adolescent treatment program and for an adult mental health facility serving forensic populations. Currently, she is a Senior Research Associate in the Center for Criminal Justice Research and Deputy Director of the Corrections Institute at the University of Cincinnati. She has been Project Director for several correctional projects including a state-wide correctional treatment program evaluation for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, the development and implementation of a cognitive-behavioral program for the San Joaquin County Probation Department (Juvenile Division), and recent initiatives by the Ohio Department of Youth Services and Westchester County, New York Probation Department to implement effective practices for community supervison. She is involved in the development and implementation of regional cognitive-behavioral treatment programs for Ohio’s Department of Youth Services. Ms. Schweitzer is also a trainer in cognitive-behavioral interventions, risk assessment, case management, and motivational interviewing for the Corrections Institute and has experience in conducting correctional program evaluations and providing technical assistance to correctional agencies on evidenced based practices.
