The ESL English Placement Test (ESL ENPT) is ONLY for international or immigrant students whose first language is not English and who do not have current TOEFL iBT or IELTS subscores.

If you are an international student and have taken SAT or ACT, you do NOT need to take this test. Please contact your academic advisor for assistance or visit English Composition Program.
If you have taken TOEFL iBT or IELTS within the past year, you do NOT need to take this test. You will be placed into ESL/English classes based on your TOEFL or IELTS results.
Test scores must be sent to UC directly from the testing agency. Please select UC as a recipient of your scores. Please visit the following websites for more details on how to send scores.

The ESL English Placement Test is faciliated via Blackboard and is not completed at a tradional on-site testing center or classroom facility. Please refer to "How to access Blackbaord and ESL ENPT page."
The ESL ENPT oral is a face-to-face interview for 5 to 10 minutes. Students will be asked questions about their areas of study, experiences, and opinions.

Once you are admitted to the University of Cincinnati, you will be given access to the Blackboard website. If you do not have Blackboard acess, please contact your academic advisor.
Since students cannot self-enroll in the ESL ENPT page, please contact CESL Testing Office at firstname.lastname@example.org to register for the test. In the email, please include student's full name, M-number, and usename (if any).
